We send important emails to the address on file for your account, such as instructions for signing in, setting a password, or managing other aspects of your account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-benefits-do-i-get-from-registering-my-account\">What benefits do I get from registering my account?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration grants access to gated site content. It also gives you access to our newsletters and creates a reader account on our site where you can manage your newsletter and billing preferences. Registering and signing in gives you a more personalized experience as you browse the site. It also helps us understand our audience\u2019s interests and needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-do-i-manage-my-account-nbsp\">How do I manage my account?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can manage your account under the <a href=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/my-account\">My Account<\/a> dashboard. This is accessible through the link to My Account\/Sign In at the top of the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-do-i-have-to-remember-a-password-nbsp\">Do I have to remember a password?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage you to use the one-time password (OTP) code to sign in. No password to remember and it\u2019s easy. We\u2019ll email you the code. It\u2019s good for 30 minutes. If it takes longer than that to get around to enter it, no problem. Just click the option to get a new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-do-i-set-or-reset-my-password\">How do I set or reset my password?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To set a new password after registering your account, or reset password, follow these steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the My Account\/Sign In link at the top of the site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the resulting form, select the \u201cReset password\u201d button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your inbox for an email with a link and instructions to reset your password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After resetting your password, you\u2019ll need to log in with that new password. This security step prevents malicious actors from logging into your account by resetting a password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-do-i-stay-signed-in\">How do I stay signed in?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve signed in in the last 30 days on the device you\u2019re using, our system should recognize you as a returning visitor. Once you\u2019ve signed in on Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or other browsers, you should stay signed in for about a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you aren\u2019t staying signed in, here are several possible reasons, along with solutions for each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-you-re-using-a-light-or-in-app-version-of-a-browser\">You\u2019re using a light or in-app version of a browser.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is especially common on smartphones, most often when Safari is your default browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Why does this happen? <\/strong>Links you open from another app (e.g., Mail, Gmail, Facebook, or X) may open in a light browser. For privacy, these browsers don\u2019t retain sign-in info.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How do I know this is happening?<\/strong> In Safari on iPhone and iPad, you\u2019ll know you\u2019re in a light browser if you\u2019re on our site and see the Safari compass icon at the bottom right of your screen. You also may see a \u201cDone\u201d or \u201cBack\u201d link or back arrow at the top left of your screen. You might see an option that reads \u201cOpen window in [browser bame]\u201d under the more options (\u2026) menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How can I fix it?<\/strong> In Safari on iPhone and iPad, select the Safari compass icon at the bottom right of your screen, or select \u201cOpen window in [browser name]\u201d in your more options (\u2026) menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-you-re-using-a-private-or-incognito-browser-window-or-tab\">You\u2019re using a private or incognito browser window or tab.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Private (Safari and Firefox) and Incognito (Chrome) browser sessions don\u2019t track your data. If you sign in during such a session, your sign-in data won\u2019t carry over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Why does this happen? <\/strong>Your device might be set up to open any new window in a private browsing session, or you might have been in a private or incognito session for another reason.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How do I know this is happening? <\/strong>In Safari, the browser\u2019s address bar will be black or dark instead of white or gray. In Firefox, you\u2019ll see a mask icon at the top of the browser. In Chrome, the browser\u2019s address bar and new tab background will be black.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How can I fix it?<\/strong> Turn off private or incognito browsing in your web browser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-you-re-blocking-cookies-in-your-browser-s-settings\">You\u2019re blocking cookies in your browser\u2019s settings.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your browser is using privacy settings that block cookies, it won\u2019t store your log-in information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Why does this happen? <\/strong>You or your workplace might have set your device to block cookies for privacy. This can unfortunately sometimes hamper websites\u2019 functionality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How do I know this is happening? <\/strong>If you\u2019re not using a light version of a browser, you\u2019re not browsing in a private or incognito browser window or tab, but our site still isn\u2019t keeping you logged in, you\u2019re probably blocking cookies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How can I fix it? <\/strong>You\u2019ll need to toggle cookies back on in your browser\u2019s settings. How to do this will vary, depending on which browser you\u2019re using and how it\u2019s configured.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-you-re-blocking-cookies-and-or-google-analytics-with-a-browser-extension-or-add-on\">You\u2019re blocking cookies and\/or Google Analytics with a browser extension or add-on.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ad blocking or privacy browser extensions such as AdBlock, uBlock Origin, and Ghostery can block the cookie that stores your log-in information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Why does this happen? <\/strong>You or your workplace might have installed one of these browser extensions to block cookies for privacy.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How do I know this is happening?<\/strong> Check your browser\u2019s add-ons or extensions list. If you see one of these items active in the list, that could be the issue.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How can I fix it?<\/strong> You can often add our website URL to a whitelist in your add-on or extension\u2019s settings. If not, you may need to disable the add-on or extension.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-you-signed-up-for-newsletters-with-one-email-address-but-subscribed-with-another\">You signed up for newsletters with one email address, but subscribed with another.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people have multiple email addresses. You might use one address when signing up for email newsletters, but another when subscribing to sites. If you visit our site using a link from an email newsletter sent to an address that isn\u2019t subscribed, our system may not recognize you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Why does this happen? <\/strong>Our system can\u2019t tie two email addresses to one subscription.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How do I know this is happening? <\/strong>Sign in using the My Account\/Sign In link at the top of the site. Check whether the email address in your account matches the email address where your newsletter was sent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How can I fix it?<\/strong> Once you\u2019ve signed in, set your device to stay signed in. Otherwise, you can contact us to resolve the issue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve tried all of these options, and you still can\u2019t stay signed in, please contact us at support@spacenews.com and provide information about your device, browser, and any detail regarding actions you took. How do I delete one of them?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have multiple accounts but only want one, you have two options.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>To merge both accounts under a single email address: <\/strong>Please contact us, and we can help you merge your subscription and donation information into a single account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To delete an account you no longer need: <\/strong>Sign into the extra account via the My Account\/Sign In link in the site header. Your browser may also expire sessions on its own. This may happen periodically, depending on your browser\u2019s settings.
